"Hmmmm... If I was a big, brown bear, and I wanted to hide in a tree, what sort of tree would I hide in? It'd probably be one with a, uh, a beehive in so I could try and get all of the honey." |
— Stampy attempting to comprehend what tree L for Leeeee x would hide in while searching for him during Hide and Tree. |
"Hide And Tree" is the 176th episode of Stampy's Lovely World. In this episode, Stampy and L for Leeeee x begin building a projectile-based snowball-based point-based target mini-game dubbed "Snow Throw", and then enact a viewer-suggested mini-game dubbed "Hide and Tree".
Plot[]
The seventh round of the ender pearl mini-game[]
Stampy opens the episode, introducing L for Leeeee x, of whom exits backwards. Immediately, he wonders why the room exists in the first place, since people who have seen his videos knows of the secret, jokingly comparing it to signifying it with a door that has arrows pointing to it saying it to be a secret room, though he finds it cool for something to emerge from the painting anyway, requesting his cake as a follow-up from the statement and eating only two segments of it. Reminded, Stampy realises that he has to play the ender pearl mini-game involving landing in the driver's seat of the F1 car, coming out onto his balcony as he notes that he is gradually worsening in experience with the mini-game, having started it off acceptably, deciding to make two attempts. In L for Leeeee x's attempt, Stampy visibly sees him nearly having made it, to his dismay, and on his own attempt, Stampy ends up by the edge of the hill. Returning back via ender pearl, he decides to use the final available one he has, noticing L for Leeeee x having been trapped inside of the window of his bedroom, and wonders if he has an escape method until he eventually slips out with ease. On his second attempt, Stampy decides to aim from the back distance of the balcony, and he and L for Leeeee x both end up throwing simultaneously. Stampy finds L for Leeeee x having nearly landed into the driver's seat as intended, being teasingly close, considering the two of them to have improved significantly.
Stampy then runs over to the Love Garden from where he is to give a shoutout to "Aura Townsend" for a tweet reading "Hi @stampylongnose heres a game for yr a funland its called hide&tree. You grow a tree and you hide inside inside it like you were never there," thinking the idea to be hilarious. Promptly, L for Leeeee x lends Stampy a sapling to do such, having formed a challenge for L for Leeeee x to do as such without his knowledge, and when he does acknowledge, he will search the trees to find him, advising him to be stealthy. Entering into his doghouse, Stampy finds all of the dogs gathering on the dog bridge, wondering if they are having a part of some form and not wishing to separate them, proceeded by their heads tilting due to L for Leeeee x showing a porkchop to them. Stampy decides to take Duncan and Mittens, finding Mittens in the Kitty Cat Condo to jump down from the balcony to travel to Stampy's Funland and build a new mini-game.
A Snow Throw plan & assisting a cow on top of the helter skelter[]
Jumping down from the balcony and into the water to then journey to the Tree Train, Stampy explains the mini-game, having decided to cal lit "Snow Throw" where players throw snow, intending to build a colourful toy house of sorts, with two people, one pressing buttons to open the windows for the house and another throwing snowballs through the windows to break a painting, and breaking the painting permits a side switch. However, the method used to score is by how many times the windows are opened, indicated by an item he is unsure of yet to count them up, with the most items winning. Leaving the Tree Train after arrival, Stampy wonders if his explanation is clear, and then sees L for Leeeee x having dashed off elsewhere, wondering if he is trying to hide in a tree already, verifying that he hasn't.
Deciding to start, Stampy journeys to the building site as he states the general plan for the episode, intending to firstly build a colourful house with three windows that allow the snowballs to be thrown to, having decided to build behind Flop due to the size of the emptiness next to it, sitting down Duncan and Mittens in advance due to the height of the build. Since he is also by the helter skelter, Stampy curiously wonders why there is a cow on top, thinking the cause to be his Lunar Friends when they were visiting, since they continually picked up cows and said cows ending up scattered. Stampy thinks he should try and lead the cow to ride down the helter skelter instead, since he never actually attempts to do such, wondering if he can insert the cow inside of the helter skelter, considering it an excuse to ride the helter skelter if impossible, additionally explaining that the helter skelter is a twisting minecart track that travels downwards without power rails.
Reaching the top, Stampy starts to nerdpole up with dirt to reach the cow at the very top in order to gradually lead the cow into the main minecart. However, he realises that he forgot to take wheat along with him as a lure, wondering if L for Leeeee x has wheat with him. Since the cow is right on the edge, Stampy is required to set down dirt blocks on the very edge in order to maintain the cow due to the cow also being on the edge, and the cow leads itself further inside of the helter skelter. With the cow prepared, the only further requirement is to allow it to be led down, crafting a staircase out of dirt only to realise that he may be wasting time with what he is doing, having not expected it to take as long as it is. Continuing to craft a staircase, Stampy wonders about using the staircase he has made so it simply drops down, and then proceeds to return back to the very top again, finding the cow in a convenient position. Blocking off the sides of its current path to prevent it from going elsewhere, the cow instead ends up going over the barrier he had added in, deciding to accept the situation of the cow and moving on to ride the helter skelter itself. Though he has issues accessing the hotbox of the button to set off the minecart, Stampy eventually drops down, commenting it to be his "least dramatic ride".
Speed-building a colourful house for Snow Throw[]
Since Stampy has spent most of the episode assisting a cow on a model tree, he urges himself to work as quickly as he can manage, deciding for a speed building. Stampy starts building the model house three blocks in from the path and one block away from Flop behind, creating a 9x9 square of yellow wool, telling L for Leeeee x to build the back and sides while he himself builds the front, adding in purple, blue and green for the fake windows, inserting the blue window on the bottom left, and then inserting a door of some style right of the window, unsure if he prefers a real door over a fake door due to the excessive use of wool, deciding to test with a real door at first, somewhat reluctantly accepting the design. Behind the structure, Stampy sees L for Leeeee x building, wondering why he is building by quickly extending one part upwards and then dropping the full height downwards.
Continuing to build the front of the house, Stampy then lines the middle point off and fills in the remaining areas to make a complete half, and then crafts the purple window atop the blue window, and then positioning the green window on top of the general location of the door. He explains the general logistics that the windows will use in that they will feature pistons raising and lowering glass to represent them opening and closing. This explanation is interrupted by a skeleton sneakily attacking him atop the roof of Googlies Manor, and after killing it with his enchanted bow and arrow, Stampy revives his health points, and then lines the top layer of the front row off, at which point he realises the back and side walls are one block too high, as the house is also intended to be nine blocks high.
Starting to build the roof, Stampy describes the design as "traditional", though not traditional in regards to colour due to being made of red, intending for a pointed design, after which he will add a lawn in front of the model house structure in the form of alternating green and lime green stripes, comparable to that of football grounds, with a booth at the end for the secondary player to switch the windows. Realising his progress, Stampy remarks that he has made good progress regardless of wasting time attempting to free a cow atop the helter skelter.
With the model house nearly completed, Stampy sets down torches on the edges and the top of the roof, and then jumps down onto one of the nearby lamps, the nearby Bouncy Boats, and then onto the path down below as a final act to start to work on the front. Upon reaching the bottom, Stampy finds another enderman and attempts to kill it to receive ender pearls for the mini-game, and then he ends up finding Duncan inside of the blue window, to his confusion, since cats are typically the ones to enter into window frames, taking note of how Duncan and Mittens had followed him over at the same time, finding it endearing how they travel around as a duo.
Adding a fake lawn to Snow Throw[]
Fixing the unfinished front roof of the model house in advance due to a building error, Stampy returns back down again to see the full product as it is in a full view to then build the fake lawn in front of it. Upon doing so, Stampy finds himself to like the design of the model house, admiring it and considering it a colourful toy house of some form. L for Leeeee x ends up digging out a 9x9 square for the lawn just as Stampy is attacked by a spider from behind, of which Stampy then passes onto Mittens, of whom apparently attacks the spider, to his surprise, thinking that Mittens and Duncan have switched roles due to spending time together.
The fake lawn currently being built by L for Leeeee x, the design is displayed as one-each alternating lime green and green, intending to surround it with a fence to act as a barrier for the lawn, and after filling in the pattern and confirming the lawn to be nine blocks long, Stampy then attempts to craft fences to surround the exterior only to be snuck up on by a creeper, causing the crafting table to be destroyed and cause him to shield himself via the house he had built, considering the episode to be dangerous as he is reduced to 2 1/2 health points. With Stampy reminding L for Leeeee x to commit to 'Hide and Tree', he immediately dashes off without alerting Stampy, and he decides to craft the fences inside of the model house, as opposed to being outside, regretting not sleeping, commenting that he prefers to risk himself due to staying outside all night, which usually slows progress down more due to creepers.
Crafting the fences from inside of the model house, Stampy remarks on the minimal damage made by the creeper, seeing another distantly, and wonders if Mittens will be able to scare the creepers away, even considering Duncan to substitute the role of defense, and then comments on the progress made on the mini-game as he surrounds the fake lawn with fences, finding L for Leeeee x having lagged out, requiring him to be invited in again, aware that he may have hidden inside of a tree. Desperately, Stampy, at first thinking of returning into the house, decides to test Mittens' capability of scaring the creeper, which she finds her able to do successfully, leading him to remark on the fact that they are deterred by cats despite their fear factor. Inviting L for Leeeee x again, Stampy deems the progress made as practically done, and then considers adding some form of path to the fake lawn, using wooden planks to zig-zag from the door of the model house in question.
Hide and Tree with L for Leeeee x[]
Stampy then deems the main element of the mini-game complete, and then decides to search for L for Leeeee x, wondering if he has built or planted a new tree, or has entered into an old tree deciding to search for an off-putting tree. He at first considers the tree tower inside of Flower Power, deciding to search in advance by entering into the bush at the very top to find a monkey model he had made inside of it, though no presence of L for Leeeee x himself. Since he is absent, Stampy decides to copy his mindset, thinking it should be a big tree to hide inside of it, additionally considering his limited time. Stampy decides to instead search in Bury Berry due to the presence of two trees, thinking he may be able to see him through the tree objects due to gamertags being enabled. However, upon searching through this, Stampy finds his gamertag distantly by Water Rush, finding L for Leeeee x hiding behind a normal tree, telling him to reveal himself, finding him having changed into a grass skin for camoflauge purposes.
Due to blatantly being entertained, Stampy thanks Aura Townsend for the suggestions she made about the mini-game, and then deems that he has run out of time, though not before finding an unknown room made prior, and then ending the episode with the line "Anyway, that is the end of this video here, I wanna thank you all very much for watching, and, hopefully, I will see you in my next episode. Byeeee!"
