"Anyway, sorry, I got distracted! Forget the dungeon, forget... all the exciting mobs, and, uh, hidden stuff under the ground, we're building a game here, and if I keep getting distracted, uh, I got no chances of getting it done, so..." |
— Stampy after finding a dungeon underneath the building site for his bow and arrow-minecart battle mini-game. |
"Distracted" is the 148th episode of Stampy's Lovely World. In this episode, Stampy and his helpers begin building a bow and arrow-minecart battle mini-game.
Plot[]
A weird start - an attempt to draw away a creeper with a cat & kissing a green sheep[]
Stampy opens the episode, seeing a creeper in the Love Garden in the distance as LongShotBTG sleeps due to it being night, deciding to demonstrate something with Mittens in that cats scare creepers away, deciding to test such a thing. Stampy sees Mittens fall back a distance from him. Opening the door for Mittens, he shows great expectation of her entering into the Love Garden to scare the creeper off, hoping it to work and for Mittens to scare off the creeper, scaring him instead. The creeper banks itself up against the front wall of the crafting room, and Stampy attempts to lure Mittens over to the creeper, attempting to tell Mittens to scare the creeper away. He walks out of the left door of his crafting room, only for the creeper to approach him menacingly, which he responds to by rapidly shooting at said creeper and closing the door off.
Still trying to scare away the creeper, Stampy decides instead to lead Mittens out of the front of the crafting room, which, eventually, leads to a successful demonstration of a creeper being able to be scared off by a cat, though it returns back anyway. Due to this, he notices them only partially being scared, and decides to give retribution by joining in with L for Leeeee x in killing it via bow and arrow, since he doesn't want it to blow up in the Love Garden due to all of the signs, which he eventually succeeds at. After her demonstration, Stampy somewhat approves of Mittens' performance, considering it average, additionally having L for Leeeee x on his balcony, distantly shooting the creeper.
Stampy decides to return back to his bedroom in order to perpetuate tradition, as he has not yet eaten his cake, and greets L for Leeeee x as he rapidly returns back into the painting, noting the introducing to be "dramatic". The cake given, Stampy rapidly eats it near-complete, and L for Leeeeee x gives him a diamond shovel, as he and L for Leeeee x will commit to excessive amounts of digging, and since he hasn't died, he will enchant the given shovel with the 23 experience levels he has maintained. Leaving his bedroom, Stampy sees LongShotBTG standing on the stairs facing towards the door, noting that there is competition and that there is another bear inside of his world, introducing him someone seen in his world a very long time ago. With the authenticity of the skin he is using, Stampy notes to L for Leeeee x of what a "proper bear" actually looks like, comparing the two as a "grizzly bear" and a "friendly bear".
Before enchantment, however, Stampy has to revisit his Love Garden in order to give a shoutout to "PuppyChowMaster" for a tweet that she had sent reading "Dear Mr. Stampy Cat, plz, plz, plz, kiss a green sheep in your lovely world =)", confusing Stampy as he decides to do just that, visiting his animal farm's sheep pen to do just that. In the pen, there are also yellow, blue and red sheep, with the green sheep being lime green, and he decides to pick one of the lime green sheep. The sheep decides to eat, which Stampy takes as a casual distraction from its own presence, telling the sheep to comply with his idea as he decides to kiss the lime green sheep as requested.
Walking past his mob trap just by his animal farm, Stampy warns Mittens to be careful as he dislikes the presence of fire and lava near his animals as they may be hurting themselves, and upon leaving the animal farm, Stampy visits the doghouse, noting the abundance of animals he will have in store, dragging around two bears, a dog, and two cats, referring to himself and Mittens, as well as another in Stampy's Funland, whom he will greet eventually when visiting. At the doghouse, Stampy decides to pick Duncan again according to Mittens indicating such via the sign at the end, though he is aware of recently taking him anyway, having left the choice to Mittens.
Enchanting a shovel, outlining a bow and arrow-minecart mini-game & finding a dungeon[]
Leaving the doghouse, Stampy visits the Tree Train as he explains what he intends to build in the episode, having already wasted five minutes, building a new bow and arrow mini-game. Suddenly, on his way down, he realises that he had forgotten something, telling his helpers to stop, all of himself and his helpers getting stuck in the ladder of the Tree Train, leading them up to the top. Stampy wonders if he can simply drop down into the water underneath, of which L for Leeeee x and LongShotBTG succeed in, proceeded by Stampy, who succeeds at falling in the water itself as he wishes not to lose his levels.
On his way over to the enchanting room, Stampy decides to explain the mini-game in question in that players will be trapped in four glass booths with a bow and arrow that players are only able to shoot upwards in, needing to curve the arrows to hit minecarts, and once the minecarts are removed, the doors trapping the player will open to escape, which is a simple concept overall. After enchanting his shovel, Stampy only gains Unbreaking and Fortune enchantments, as opposed to Efficiency, deciding the one that he has works anyway. Stampy decides to give his previous shovel to LongShotBTG instead, having had it for ages, age being an additional reason for why he likes diamond tools.
Journeying down to the Tree Train again, Stampy decides to actually head to Stampy's Funland, explaining that he has decided to build opposite from the circus, due to the size of the mini-game, the general area being some form of miniature desert or beach with a large collection of sand, hoping that all four of his helpers working with him will make working on the mini-game faster to have a test mini-game. Arriving at Stampy's Funland, Stampy finds that he is missing another helper, unsure of his current location, hoping to show up eventually, deciding not to reveal it eventually, expecting him to show up eventually. On his way over, Stampy finds himself to be missing the presence of Stampy's Funland.
On his way over to the main building site, Stampy sees a figure on top of the circus, introducing the figure as LONG bow X99 as he walks over, thinking he looks shy due to not having been in an episode for a long time, as he proceeds to then drop down a selection of buckets in Stampy's general direction, leading Stampy to decide to start building the mini-game, planning out the size as 36x36, which he decides to mark the area of first, eight blocks back from the main rainbow of Raindrops and three blocks back from the path. L for Leeeee x starts to dig, and Stampy joins in, counting up to 36 on the row facing towards the path, the player booths then being in the middle of the count, each booth also being a different colour. Stampy realises that his explanation sounds confusing, promising his viewers that his explanation may be eventually understood.
With the basic square shape started, Stampy starts to mark the outline with black wool with a fence around to prevent animals from wandering inside and getting trapped in the minecarts, intending to mark the outline while his helpers dig the middle of the arena out. Stampy realises that he can hear groaning underground of the mini-game's building site, noticing a selection of zombies, wondering of their general location and trying to search for them, judging the exact mark, digging down and finding a zombie spawner underground, to his surprise. L for Leeeee x eagerly jumps in to kill the zombies in the room with his sword, Stampy following in and killing off the ones present and telling L for Leeeee x to set up a torch onto the mob spawner, Stampy clarifying that he himself was fine about the zombies and was concerned about Duncan attempting to journey down underground and attack the zombies for himself. He surrounds the mob spawner in torches, and then searches for the loot of the dungeon, gathering redstone, bread, and a saddle, considering the find to be lucky.
Stampy turns around to see his pets and LONG bow X99 also follow him into the dungeon, which he sarcastically responds to by saying that there is room in the dungeon for everyone, and then decides to return back to building the mini-game as he has no chance of completing it if he does. Stampy starts to build the first booth, deciding on the yellow side as the first to build. With the size, the main booth will need to be 15 blocks in from the side, requiring him to count in by 15 on the sand rather than the black wool, setting down the first blocks of the booth, of which will be four blocks wide for a double door set in the middle, and the main platform will also be raised for a clear view of the interior of the mini-game. Stampy realises that he is lacking glass, and decides to craft a furnace, which is his only necessity as there is an endless line of sand around the area to smelt into glass. Crafting the furnace, Stampy starts to smelt the sand into glass, doing cobblestone afterwards for detector rails, as the mini-game will work by using minecarts as an on/off switch for the doors.
Stampy wonders if what he is saying makes any sense, and clarifies that the episode currently playing out is the easy element, as he is only setting down walls, adding redstone to it in the next episode, which he assures is easy, hoping to teach his viewers how to build the mini-game. After outlining the main booth for the yellow side, Stampy suddenly sees LONG bow X99 being attacked by Duncan, to his confusion, recommending his helpers to get along with one another, as well as seeing a structure of confusion, made by LongShotBTG, greatly disappointing Stampy's idea that his helpers being around would allow progress to be made, only see no one having interest, noting that his helpers always like playing the mini-games more than actually building them.
Digging out the floor of a bow and arrow-minecart mini-game[]
Stampy then starts to dig out the floor along with his helpers, needing to replace the floor with black wool, scolding Duncan for what had happened between him and LONG bow X99 along the way upon hearing him growl again, and that sitting him down was necessary. Still digging, he also explains the mini-game will be split into multiple colours of yellow, red, blue and green, divided into quarters, the quarters being set up with four minecarts to dislodge. However, they have to be shot upwards, and in the middle of the square will be one minecart representing each colour, meaning that shooting the respective player's minecart may accidentally lead to another's being shot instead, meaning that it may assist them during a battle mini-game, leading to potentially losing.
Starting to add colour to the structure, Stampy offers his helpers to complete the yellow side, and then realises that his sand may have completed in smelting, offering his helpers to continue filling in the yellow on the side that he is building while he adds the minecarts to have a test. Stampy realises that the episode he is currently in may be one of his most unproductive, since there are a collection of distractions present around him, and he goes to gather his glass for the booth. To design it, Stampy considers adding a single row of glass, and then sees his two pets playing together from inside of it, to his surprise and endearment. Stampy lines the booth with glass, and then caps it off with a line of yellow wool, due to the one point being the only necessary to see the see the mini-game.
Setting down torches, Stampy extends out yellow wool blocks from the platform at the same level, then adding pressure plates down under the concept of being trapped until the minecarts are eliminated, turning around after crafting wooden pressure plates to find another giraffe from LONG bow X99, to his surprise, and then commits to a minor demonstration of how the players will experience the mini-game from inside the booths before releasing himself again. With the main booth complete as it is, Stampy decides to assist in filling in the yellow floor to indicate each quadrant so he can position the four minecarts. After being alerted by a creeper, Stampy offers his helpers to finish adding in the rest of the yellow wool so he can set down the black wool on the edge of the square to then cross through the middle, adding that the minecart platforms will also be raised, comparing his design choice to a Lego block.
Stampy starts to set down the general shape of the squares, making a 5x5 square on the bottom to contain a 3x3 raised square, testing for if the design will work, and then adds the raised platform of the team colour in the middle of the 5x5 square, including black wool in the middle, requiring to duplicate it by four so that the minecarts can then be placed onto the me. Stampy marks out the square directly next to the first one, finding the size to be correct, intending to then test the game afterwards with all five minecarts set up by himself, which he is aware will be more entertaining with four people involved due to the spontaneity of the mini-game. Creating the last two sets of holes, Stampy finds that the platforms, surprising him as his typical process is of being unable work out an element further forward to progress.
With 3/4 of the first quadrant complete, Stampy crafts detector rails, which he requires the stone for, deciding to smelt it in the furnace, and then crafting a set of minecarts, deciding to set them up in the present episode and then complete the redstone for them in the next, assuring his viewers that the redstone is simple once again and that he will simplify it, giving away some green wool from his inventory for the green side. Stampy crafts four minecarts, then giving LONG bow X99 spare blue and black wool, noting himself to fill his inventory quickly. After doing so, Stampy gather his stone, and then crafts a stone pressure plate to create the first set of detector rails, giving himself 12 of them to then set down onto the platfosm, explaining that the minecarts being on top of them automatically enables the redstone signal, demonstrating by positioning a minecart and trailing redstone from it, the redstone from the detector rail then keeping the doors shut so the doors open when they have been removed.
Testing the bow and arrow-minecart mini-game[]
Stampy then sets down the minecarts for a test of the mini-game, telling his helpers not to use them, and then takes entry into the yellow booth, curious as to the number of shots he can succeed with the mini-game in, deciding to do so in under 15. However, after multiple attempts to destroy the minecarts via weakly shooting them, and only knocking one of them when finally making contact, Stampy realises that he needs to fire directly upwards instead, warning his helpers of the presence of projectiles, only for none of the minecarts to be shot by the arrows anyway, to his confusion as he believes it to maximises his chances. L for Leeeee x returns his arrows back, and Stampy then realises that he may have to enchant most of the bows, deciding he should use Infinity, and then goes to check if some further arrows he has shot will make contact with the minecarts, only for them to refuse to fall down, to his confusion and wonder. Determined, Stampy decides he should at least manage once of them, deciding instead of the strategy of firing upwards and moving forward at a gradual pace. Once again, the arrows shot simply refuse to fall back down, to Stampy's confusion. He decides instead to move right up to the wall of the booth instead, explaining his general plan in that he is forming a strategy, and wonders where they are again, only to find them refusing to fall once more.
Stampy decides instead to repeatedly fire upwards, and eventually successfully manages to destroy one of the minecarts, or otherwise one of his helpers doing it for him out of pity, taking it as evidence of the mini-game somewhat being possible. Due to being inside of the booth, however, without the redstone, LONG bow X99 decides to release him from inside, finding what he has done as proof of the mini-game being possible. Stampy explains his further plans, intending to fill in the pattern in-between episodes, thinking that he made acceptable progress in spite of the slow start he had made, thinking that what was built is okay, and then in the episode afterwards, complete the redstone, and then officially play the mini-game. Stampy thanks his helpers for building the mini-game with him, as well as his pets for being "mascots", and then ending the episode with the line "And of course, the most important person I wanna thank, uh, is you, watching your screen right now, that's right, I'm talking to you, you sitting there, or standing there, or lying there, or standing on your head, whatever you're doing right now, a big thank you to you, uh, for yeah, spending the, uh, last 25 minutes of your life, uh, joining me and my friends inside of my Lovely World. But that's the end of this video here, as always there will be a link in the description to the next part of my Let's Play, uh, which will be online very soon. So I'll see you all later now, Byeeeee!"
